A boy like that/I have a love es una de las canciones finales del musical West Side Story.Compuesto por Leonard Bernstein y con letras de Stephen Sondheim, se estrenó en 1957 en Broadway y se llevó en 1961 al cine dirigido por Robert Wise y Jerome Robbins. Cuenta la historia de dos bandas enfrentadas de Nueva York, los Jets (estadounidenses de origen irlandés) y los Sharks (inmigrantes puertorriqueños), y los problemas que surgen cuando María, hermana del líder de los Sharks, y Tony, ex miembro de los Jets, se enamoran.
El reparto de la película (Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer, Rita Moreno, George Chakiris y Russ Tamblyn) es el más mítico de todos. Natalie Wood y Richard Beymer como María y Tony pasaron a la historia como los Romeo y Julieta modernos, y Rita Moreno y George Chakiris como Anita y Bernardo ganaron sendos Oscar a Mejor Actriz/Actor Secundario de entre los 10 que se llevó la película.
La canción A boy Like That/I have a love la interpretan María y Anita, su cuñada, tras el asesinato de Bernardo por parte de Tony, después de que Bernardo matara a su mejor amigo y líder de los Jets. Anita, rota de dolor,le reprocha que le ame, y María le dice que no puede evitarlo y que ella más que nadie debería entenderlo.
